AMANDA FRIEDMAN, DELIA GONZALEZ, RICH PORTER
OPENING SUNDAY
JUNE 18, 2017 6-8PM

SITUATIONS ATHENS opens Sunday, June 18th, 2017. The exhibition consists of a collaborative performance featuring choreography, costumes and artworks by Amanda Friedman, Delia Gonzalez, and Rich Porter. Riffing on the Galway Kinnell poem, The Bear, a dancer connects daily experience to larger poetic, spiritual and cultural forces. Kinnell’s socially-engaged verse seeks an essential human nature, often by engaging the natural and animal worlds. In this presentation, the dancer improvises dance steps outlined in the poem and directed by the artwork that surrounds her.

The performance occurs in conjunction with the opening at Aetopoulos curated by Pali Kashi.
