ABDOLREZA AMINLARI

Abdolreza Aminlari is a Brooklyn-based artist who employs geometric patterning and embroidery in his work. Rooted in memories of the animals, symbols, and patterns of the Persian rugs from his childhood, the work transcends those origins, encouraging interpretations that are not bound to any singular culture or context.

Using both 24-karat gold thread and common sewing thread, Aminlari hand-stitches directly into handmade or hand-painted paper to achieve a variety of visual effects. Influenced by architecture and the geometric structures of Persian carpets, these works function as discrete investigations of scale, light, and color. Aminlari’s practice is also deeply concerned with labor and the fundamental process of repetition inherent in the act of sewing.

ABDOLREZA AMINLARI (b. 1979, Tehran) has been nationally and Internationally exhibited, including SITUATIONS, New York; Andrew Rafacz, Chicago; O Gallery, Tehran; KVKM Kunstverein Cologne; Taymour Grahne, New York; the Derfner Judaica Museum, New York; New York; Long House, New York; Jackie Klempay, Brooklyn. ANDRÉS BEDOYA

Andrés Bedoya’s work reflects upon the complex and rich history of the Andean region of Latin America. Bedoya explores the origin of belief systems, rituals and objects, reconstructing them within an abstracted biographical narrative. This includes both historical and contemporary practices, from pre-Columbian cultures to those imposed during the Spanish colonial era to those maintained today. The works that comprise his oeuvre make an oblique reference to various sources, such as the Inca metallurgy, Roman Catholic iconography, monetary systems, and the folklore of contemporary Bolivia. Most recently, Bedoya’s installation, titled “Moscas,” was on view in El Dorado at the Americas Society in New York City and was acquired by LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art).

ANDRÉS BEDOYA (born 1978, La Paz, Bolivia) currently lives and works in Mexico City. Bedoya’s sculptures, drawings, installations, and videos have been exhibited in Europe, the US and throughout Latin America. Solo exhibitions include SITUATIONS, NYC; the Museo Nacional de Arte, La Paz; SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah, Georgia; Abrons Arts Center in New York City. Recent group exhibitions include Fundación Proa, Buenos Aires, Argentina; Nicelle Beauchene, New York City; Coral Gables Museum. Miami, Florida, among others. He was the co-creator of Brooklyn is Burning, a series of performance and video events held in New York City in various spaces, including MoMA PS1. Bedoya holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design from the University of Texas, Austin. His work is held in the collections of the LACMA, Los Angeles,CA; Fundación Ama Amoedo, Jose Ignacio, Uruguay; and Fundación Proa, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

ABEL MACIAS

Abel Macias is a painter and muralist taking inspiration from the natural world. Focusing on a variety of kaleidoscopic landscapes, as well as folkloric imagery drawn from his Mexican heritage, Macias applies a bold, expressive palette with textural brushstrokes. Macias entertains the notion that his paintings are not merely meant to be examined from his point of view but to be experienced from a more universal lens. He actively zooms in and out of focus, capturing both the grandeur and the minutiae of his subject matter. The result is a complex overlay where background and foreground blend seamlessly, and the space between objects dissolves.

ABEL MACIAS (b. 1979 Atlanta, GA) lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. He holds a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with additional course work at School of Visual Arts, NYC and Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. Exhibitions include SITUATIONS, NYC; Hashimoto Gallery, San Francisco, CA; Artists Space Gallery, NYC; Laney Contemporary, Savannah GA; and SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah, GA. His work is in many private and public collections including SCAD Atlanta, and SCAD Hong Kong. Macias is perhaps most well known for his mural work in both private residences (South Hampton, Turks and Caicos, Cabo, MX) and public spaces including Proper Hotel DTLA, CA (interiors by Kelly Wearstler); Maybourne Hotel, Beverly Hills, CA; Lane Crawford, Hong Kong, Shanghai; Flamingo Estate, Los Angeles; Heimet, Los Angeles; JAJA, Cleveland, OH, and Chatham Hall, Savannah, GA. RICHARD NAM

Richard Nam works primarily in ceramics, reimagining prehistoric life through vessels inspired by his lifelong fascination with paleontology and Earth’s evolutionary history. At NADA Miami, SITUATIONS will present a selection of his playful “Dino Pots,” unique ceramic works that have the capacity to double as planters: the container becomes a dinosaur’s torso, completed by features such as the graceful head of a Brontosaurus or the plated tail of a Stegosaurus. Blending scientific curiosity with playful sculptural form, these pieces animate ancient creatures while highlighting nature’s enduring strength and inherent fragility. Formed from clay—an elemental material both resilient and vulnerable—the series becomes a meditation on biodiversity across time, echoing the ancient yet ongoing story of life on our planet.

RICHARD NAM (b. 1997, Los Angeles) lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. He holds an MFA from UCLA and a BFA from California Institute of the Arts. He has held exhibitions at Make Room, Los Angeles; The Pit, Los Angeles; New Gallery Open, Los Angeles; Yiwei Gallery, Venice, CA; Praz Delavallade, Los Angeles; Kita Gallery, Los Angeles, UCLA New Wight Gallery, Los Angeles, and others. His work will be exhibited with SITUATIONS, NY at NADA Miami this Fall.
